Who decides if you can have Airborne in your Army contract?
I’ve heard that if you want to go to Airborne school, it’s best to get it in your contract before you sign. Is it the recruiter who decides if it can go in your contract or the counselor at MEPS who puts it in your contract? I am going in as 88N (Transportation) and would love to go Airborne although it might be difficult to get it in my contract. Any help would be great. Thanks
Talk to your recruiter to help facilitate Airborne going in your contract but it’s ultimately up to the counselor.
But keep this in mind, will it make much sense for the Army to send you to Airborne school, when you’re in transportation, over someone who’s going into SF or Infantry? In my opinion, it’s almost like asking for language training.
Anyways, it boils down to slots for your particular MOS, which I’m sure are not many and more than likely filled (heck, you may be going to an Airborne unit, for all I know, which would make sense to send you to the course).
